Let's face it, cooking is science. You mix things together and they
react. Add heat, they do other things. Kids love measuring,
mixing, and tasting the results. ITK Culinary is a cooking school
that branches out beyond adult classes to offer weekly kids
cooking classes each Sunday at 10a.m. for kids 5-12. For a
complete list of classes, visit their Calendar of Classes. Chef
Scott Davis created the Kids Cooking program for Whole Foods
where they were wildly successful. Also known as The Culinary
Dude, Chef Davis' courses are designed to be hands on
experiences targeted for kids from ages 5-12 years old.
Participants are guided through each recipe and ingredient used,
then under his expert eye, prepared into a wonderful meal.
Parents are given copies of recipes and shopping lists so your
budding chef can recreate the meal for the family. Classes
change weekly so check back frequently.
Their facility also hosts events such as lectures on resolving
sugar cravings, creating natural organic baby food, what to pack
for school lunches and how to deal with picky eaters. They try to
have one lecture or guest speaker per month.
